About Us

WE ARE BUFFERSPRINGS

WE THE GAME.

we don't play the game.
we change it.

Most veteran hiring programs are built for appearances. We built BufferSprings for impact.

We help veterans and military spouses land careers that actually reflect their skills. We help companies stop checking boxes and start hiring with purpose.

As a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), BufferSprings is uniquely positioned to eradicate underemployment within the military-connected community.

from uniform to impact

A Message From the Founder

I didn’t start BufferSprings to launch a company. I built it because the system failed me, and I knew I wasn’t alone. When I left the Marine Corps in 2012 after 12 years of active service leading Marines, running recruiting operations, and making decisions that impacted lives and missions, I had momentum, responsibility, and purpose. Then it all stopped. The official transition process handed me a folder of generic materials and essentially said “figure it out.” No plan, no real support, no one asking who I was or where I wanted to go. My first civilian job was in a cubicle selling tools back to the government. I spent 15 months applying to every “veteran-friendly” company I could find, rewrote my resume, translated my rank, networked, and played the game. Nothing happened. Eventually I landed in the veteran hiring space, thinking I could make it better from the inside. But I found myself selling ineffective job fairs and corporate ad space to employers who wanted to look good in November but didn’t want to fix what was broken. When I sat at the table with other leaders and laid out a better path, one focused on outcomes and veterans, they told me it wasn’t the business model. Profit came first. So I left and founded BufferSprings on August 14th, 2021.

The name came to me while I was working in my yard, hands in the dirt, mind racing. BufferSprings absorbs the chaos, the noise, the frustration of a broken system. We carry the weight for veterans stuck in transition, military spouses getting passed over, overworked community organizations, and base leaders doing their best with outdated tools. We also work with employers who actually want to get this right but don’t know where to start. We absorb it all and turn it into forward motion, helping veterans land real careers, helping companies build systems that last. BufferSprings is what should have existed all along. It’s built by veterans who lived the problem, for veterans who deserve better. We don’t patch things up or promise feel-good results. We build the system that works.

why buffersprings

why buffersprings

A buffer spring is a critical part of your service rifle. You don't see it. You don't think about it. But without it, the entire weapon jams.

It absorbs impact. It resets the system. It keeps everything firing smoothly, accurately, and on target.

That's us. We absorb the noise and chaos of transition and corporate confusion. We redirect that energy into forward momentum. We build systems that keep veterans moving, teams hiring, and missions advancing.

why purple

why purple

We took all the red, white, and blue noise in this space and turned it into something that actually works.

Purple represents every branch of military service. In military-speak, "purple" means joint mission, different forces aligned under one shared goal.

Purple is not branding. It's our blueprint. It means less posturing and more progress. It means real unity. Real results. Real work.

Founder & CEO | Marine Veteran | Systems Builder

“I built BufferSprings because I was done waiting for someone else to fix what I lived through. My transition out of the Marine Corps showed me how broken the system was, and my years inside the veteran hiring industry proved that most people were more interested in looking good than doing good. I tried to change it from the inside. That didn’t work. So I left, and built something that would. BufferSprings is everything I wish existed when I was navigating life after the military. It’s real solutions for people who deserve better. It’s not a side hustle or a campaign. It’s the mission. And it always will be.”

Esmeralda Ramirez

Systems Implementation Manager | Marine Veteran | Military Spouse

“For many service members, the hardest part of transition isn’t leaving the uniform, it’s figuring out what comes next. As Marines, we’ve heard: “Some people spend a lifetime wondering if they made a difference. The Marines don’t have that problem.” Still, many of us walk away feeling we could’ve done more, especially when service ends early. BufferSprings became my next mission. Not to fill a void, but to keep making an impact. We’re not playing the same old game. We’re breaking down outdated systems, challenging the charity mindset, and redefining service, not as veterans, but as builders, leaders, and true changemakers.”

Azriele Tingle

UX Designer | Air Force Veteran | Former Bioenvironmental Engineer

“I came to BufferSprings with two goals: to make a meaningful difference and to ensure that users can benefit from my digital work. In most roles within my field, it’s rare to see the direct impact of your efforts, but at BufferSprings, I have that opportunity. Being part of this team has deepened my connection to the veteran community and helped me better understand how I can support and uplift those who served. The work we do here continues to bring purpose and positivity into my life, and that motivates me to keep sharing it with others.”

John Scott

Systems Implementation Specialist | Army Veteran | Former Data Technician

“As a military veteran, I experienced firsthand the challenges of transitioning into the civilian workforce without clear guidance or tools. Joining BufferSprings gave me the opportunity to help solve that problem by building business systems that empower both the company and our SkillBridgers—fellow transitioning service members gaining real-world experience. It’s meaningful work that allows me to give back by creating the tools I wish I had during my own transition.”
